What do I need to pack on my first holiday with my baby?

The most exciting time! Time for some sun as well as the undivided attention of both parents away from the stress of everyday life! You’ll need the essentials as usual (we’ll pop a checklist list in for absolutely everything ) but these were the real game changers abroad!

Top tip: email the hotel before hand and ask what they can provide you with- you’ll be surprised!

  1. Travel pram: whatever daily stroller you have opted for chances are it won’t fold up or be light enough to take on the plane. This model is perfect! So light for the daily trip from your hotel room to the pool,  folds up beautifully so you can even take it on the plane and the best thing is that you can use it from birth so no need for an additional clunky bassinet!
  1. Baby swimsuit: we were so scared to take our little one in the pool for the first time but she loved it! You may have noticed your baby love bath time and the key thing for their first swim is keeping them warm and dry! We recommend the Happy Nappy to prevent any leaks and either the wrap or swimsuit depending on how hot it is. All come in really cute patterns, dry quickly for daily use and easy to put on with velcro straps.
  1. Float: Easy to inflate, great support and safety features and came with a detachable shade. Our baby loved this so much, she was so relaxed in it she had a nap!
  1. Sunglasses: Not only for looking super cool, these were really comfortable, non slip with a strap and provided UV protection as well as shielding baby’s eyes from the bright sunlight abroad!
  1. Snooz Shade: an absolute essential. Easy to install, great fit and provided shade from the sun and the all important dark breathable space for a nice long buggy nap when you can finally finish that chapter of your book!
  1. Rockit: as you may have seen in our other blog, we loved the Joie electric swing but obviously couldn’t take it with us. This was the next best thing! Attach it to the pram and the gently rocking motion helps the little one knock out in minutes so you can get some down time!
  1. Baby carrier: There will be times and places where you won’t have your pram and you need your hands! This was perfect – great support, forward and backward facing and most importantly breathable fabric so you don’t get super hot and can get on and enjoy your holiday!
