Top 5 essentials for when your baby has a cold

It’s worrying when your baby is ill for the first time and although we always recommend you seek professional medical advice, these items were great to help us get by at home!

    1. Nasal aspirator: A nasal aspirator can help clear mucus from your baby’s nose and make it easier for them to breathe. This electric one distracts your baby with music and light whilst you can make this not so pleasant job quick and efficient.

2.Humidifier: A humidifier can help moisten the air in your baby’s room, which can help ease congestion and coughing. This trusted brand is safe, gives you a reminder light to clean it and as a bonus you can actually add menthol pads to it for a soothing vapour so no need to buy an extra plug in!

3.Thermometer: It’s really important to keep an eye on your baby’s temperature but traditional thermometers need to be kept under the arm for a while and your poorly baby will not always be still. This was excellent- non contact, one second reading time and stored up to 10 previous readings so we could easily track any changes.

        4. Owlet Smart Sock Baby Monitor: You can’t be awake all the time but this great device can monitor your baby’s oxygen level and heart rate whilst you sleep and have peace of mind that you will be alerted immediately should your baby need your attention.

        5. Baby Wrap Carrier: sometimes all your baby wants is to be held for extra comfort and soothing and this organic, soft but stretchy material is perfect to hold your baby snug and be hands free.
